Riverwood is one of Port Coquitlam’s newer and most thoughtfully developed neighbourhoods, situated along the Coquitlam River in the southwest corner of the city. Developed primarily from the late 1990s onward, the area features modern single-family homes, townhomes, and condos in a planned community setting that prioritizes green space, trail connectivity, and a strong sense of neighbourhood identity.
The Coquitlam River trail corridor runs directly through Riverwood, giving residents immediate access to one of the region’s finest natural greenways. The Traboulay PoCo Trail connects from here to the rest of Port Coquitlam’s 25-kilometre trail loop, and the neighbourhood’s position near the Coquitlam border also provides easy access to amenities in both cities.
Riverwood appeals strongly to buyers who want a modern home in a planned community with excellent outdoor recreation at the doorstep — and who appreciate the slower pace and lower density of Port Coquitlam compared to the denser urban centres to the west. It’s one of PoCo’s most desirable newer neighbourhoods.
